11 A UV system can only be as good as its heart: the UV lamp. In 2001 Hönle realized a long-time vision and established its own lamp production site: Aladin GmbH. Since then we have been able to manufacture the core of UV technology ourselves – with the best quality and always tailored to each UV system and its application. Further benefits: Having one’s own lamp production creates optimal terms of delivery and a decisive advance in technology and know-how. In addition to all marketable standard spectra and arc lengths of up to three meters Aladin develops customized special lamps which are used to establish new processes or to optimize conventional ones. Aladin lamps can be doped with mercury, gallium, indium, iron, lead, and new combinations. The UV-Technik Speziallampen GmbH, member of the Hönle Group since 2011, manufactures high-quality IR lamps for printing applications. Short- or medium-wave – the lamp specialist produces IR lamps in different designs and with a heated length up to 2.000 mm. By default, the lamps are produced in three sizes as twin or as single tube lamps. Besides IR lamps UV-Technik Speziallampen manufactures premium low-pressure UV lamps, which are used for ex- ample for water disinfection. Both Aladin as well as UV-Technik Speziallampen produce their lamps not only for Hönle Group companies but also customized for OEMs and end customers. Both companies are strategic partners on the subject of in- dividual adaption and special developments. Just-in-time production and customized storing are a matter of course.
