Business news for the stock market

Gräfelfing/München (pta007/15.12.2016/07:55) - According to provisional figures, the Hönle Group revenue rose by 1.3 % to TEur 93,415 in the 2015/2016 financial year. After TEur 13,524 in the previous year, the operating result (EBIT) was TEur 12,400 in the year under review. Lower adhesive revenues in the Consumer Electronics segment in the first half of the year, in particular, and the delayed start of production concerning furnaces for the semi-conductor industry are the main reasons for the decline in earnings in the 2015/2016 financial year. Moreover, expenses of about TEur 300 associated with the DRUPA trade fair as well as start-up losses of ca. TEur 300 respecting the newly founded SKC Panacol Ltd. in South Korea had an adverse impact on consolidated earnings.

Pre-tax earnings declined by 14.1 % to TEur 12,050 and the consolidated earnings saw a 19.7 % decrease to TEur 8,290. This translates into earnings per share of Eur 1.50 Eur (PY: Eur 1.84).
The EBIT margin dropped from 14.6 % to 12.9 % and net profit on sales dropped from 11.2 % to 8.9 %.

Outlook
We expect positive business development in the Glass & Lamps segment in financial year 2016/2017, supported, in particular, by Raesch Quarz (Germany) GmbH. The company has successfully implemented the technical optimization process and has generated rising earnings contributions since May 2016. This development is expected to be continued in the financial year 2016/2017. Moreover, the investment in a new resize production plant will enable the opening up of new sales markets.

Revenues and earnings are also expected to increase significantly in the Adhesives segment. Current projects in the field of consumer electronics which are on the point of being completed will contribute positively to this development in the course of the financial year.

In addition, favourable revenue and earnings contributions are assumed for the Equipment & Systems segment in the financial year 2016/2017. Revenue increases are expected, in particular, for UV LED drying systems. Furthermore, the already completed relocation of a production site from Unterlüß near Celle to Dr. Hönle AG in Gräfelfing will provide cost saving effects.

Given unchanged economic conditions, the Management Board is aiming revenues of between Eur 95 to 105 million for the Hönle Group and an operating result of between Eur 14 and 16 million.

Following the successful conclusion of restructuring measures at Raesch Quarz (Germany) GmbH, in addition to purely organic growth, corporate acquisitions will play a major role in the expansion of Hönle's business activities. The Hönle Group is planning to further extend its market position over the medium term especially in the area of short-lived goods such as adhesives and quartz glass products.

The Annual Report 2015/2016 will be published on January 1, 2017 and can be found in the Internet under https://www.hoenle.de/de/investoren/finanzinformation.
