Gilching (pta026/02.12.2022/15:35) - The corona pandemic led to massive demand for mobile air purification devices that were used to reduce the germ load and control the risk of infection. The use of mobile air cleaning devices in public education and training facilities was also significantly encouraged by the grant of funding measures. In order to be able to participate in this market on a large scale, Dr. Hönle AG produced air sterilization devices in large numbers.

With the gradual reduction in corona restrictions, the demand for mobile air disinfection devices also decreased significantly. Even through the use of targeted marketing measures, sales can only be increased insignificantly. Due to sales risks, Dr. Hönle AG therefore makes adjustments of around 60% of its inventory of air disinfection devices in the 2021/2022 financial year, which corresponds to a value of EUR 6.4 million.

As already published in the notification of November 2, 2022, restructuring measures were also initiated at Raesch Quartz (Germany) GmbH, which resulted in one-off special effects in the 2021/2022 financial year. Dr. Hönle AG is currently examining various options for implementing the restructuring measures initiated at Raesch Quartz (Germany) GmbH. The individual restructuring measures have a retrospective effect on several items and disclosures in the 2021/2022 annual financial statements.

Due to the special effects mentioned above the Management Board therefore anticipates an operating result (EBIT) of EUR -9.5 million to EUR -11.0 million for the Hönle Group in the 2021/2022 financial year. In its last report, the Management Board expected an operating result (EBIT) of EUR -3.0 million to EUR -3.5 million.

Without the one-off special effects, the Hönle Group will probably achieve the communicated operating result target of EUR 9 million to EUR 11 million.

With an estimated EUR 127 million, sales in the 2021/2022 financial year will reach the announced sales target of EUR 125 million to EUR 130 million.

The review and implementation of the options for the restructuring measures at Raesch Quartz (Germany) GmbH and their effects on the 2021/2022 annual financial statements will be finalized by mid-December 2022. The publication of the preliminary figures for the financial year will therefore be postponed from December 8, 2022 to December 21, 2022.
